The battered, damaged, and almost helpless sailing boat driven miles off course, and at the mercy of the elements, synonomous with the human soul battered by the temptations of the devil, the world, and the flesh, and in real danger of sinking into hell for all eternity; through God's mercy rescued by the lifeboat - synonomous with the one, holy, and Catholic Church, founded by Christ Himself, and through which all divine graces and blessings are made available to all mankind. If we avail ourselves of these graces, we will be led to the tranquil and peaceful harbour of eternal happiness. 'Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for those that love him'(1st Epistle of St Paul to the Corinthians 2:9) If we deliberately refuse or ignore these graces in our life, what hope of victory have we - weak and sinful men, in the battle for our eternal salvation, against the forces of darkness.umblepiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13455889107917179909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6770248786883931686.post-8447524475075219212009-11-09T12:50:07.678+00:002009-11-09T12:50:07.678+00:00Stronsay may continue to assist to the near shipwr...Stronsay may continue to assist to the near shipwrecked moving into modernity.
