Another House of God, and Gate of Heaven

On Saturday 19th January, His Lordship Bishop Bernard Fellay was at the Society of Saint Pius X’s new Church in Gateshead, near Newcastle, UK. Some of the Transalpine Redemptorists were also present, and played a large part in the ceremonies. The Ceremony was attended by many of the Society’s faithful coming from all over the UK, some from a great distance. The Church was named “The Holy Name of Jesus”. After the blessing and Pontifical High Mass, there were some refreshments, followed by Pontifical Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament.

His Lordship starts the blessing outside the new church.

Many people were able to attend.

Protest of support for Pope Benedict XVI

We learned with sorrow that last Thursday Pope Benedict XVI was forced to cancel his visit to Rome's Sapienza University because of the prolonged protests of a minority of students and 67 of their professors. Today we join the millions of souls worldwide who protest their support and affection for the Holy Father. In particular, and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank him for the Motu Proprio of July 7 2007.

Viva Pope Benedict XVI!

Shepherd of Philadelphia – Pope Pius XII on the 150th Anniversary of the Diocese:

“Among the shepherds of the flock in Philadelphia the figure of Venerable John Neumann is pre-eminent. It was mainly through his prodigious efforts that a Catholic school system came into being and that parochial schools began to rise across the land. His holy life, his childlike gentleness, his hard labour and his tremendous foresight is still fresh and green among you. The tree planted and watered by Bishop Neumann now gives you its fruit.”
SAINT JOHN NEUMANN, PRAY FOR US!

Closer to the Holy Priesthood

Christmas Eve, 2007 was a great day for our little Congregation as two of our students received the last two minor orders in Holy Cross Seminary, Australia. Rev. Br. Yousef Marie, C.SS.R and Rev. Br. Jean Marie, C.SS.R. both received the minor orders of Exorcist and Acolyte at the hands of his Lordship Bishop Bernard Fellay. God willing they will be both ordained as Deacons in December 2008.

With his right hand placed on the book of exorcisms, Rev. Br. Jean Marie, C.SS.R is ordained to the order of Exorcist.

Rev. Br. Yousef Marie, C.SS.R. is ordained an acolyte as he places his thumb and index finger on the candlestick and candle.
