Miraculous cure from liver cancer!

Another Miracle!
Thank you
dear
Mother of Perpetual Succour!

On 28 June last we received an urgent e-mail message for prayers:

"The urgent matter is that N. has recently been diagnosed with cancer that has spread to and metastasized in his liver. N. and Z. his wife are battling the disease by every means available, most importantly through prayer. That is my reason for writing to you. ...

Z. came by the house this afternoon with the request that I write and ask for you to offer Masses for N.'s healing. She is a strong believer in the special power of the Traditional Latin Mass. ...
If you can please remember N. when you offer the Holy Sacrifice of Our Lord Jesus Christ to God Our Father, it will be appreciated in ways that words cannot express. By the way, N. is not Catholic, yet he is a devout Christian and one of the most good and upright men that I know."

Then "out of the Blue"...

On 29 September (just 3 months later)
"I just spoke with our friend Z. N.'s cancer, which was Stage 4 and had spread to his liver, is 99.9% gone. He still has to undergo a few more rounds of chemo, but it's basically a mop-up from here: the enemy has been thoroughly routed. N.'s doctor believes that his recovery is nothing short of miraculous.

Needless to say, the Masses that you offered on N.'s behalf played a significant role in bringing about this miracle. Z. would like to thank you personally, but she is emotionally spent right now. ..."
Miracles do happen!
Even the doctor said so!
Thanks be to God and Mary!

Any petitions to Our Mother of Perpetual Succour
are printed out and placed in the mail box at Her shrine;
Names need not be mentioned.

Write a letter to your Heavenly Mother
She is waiting to hear from you!
Tell Her your needs
Thank Her for the favours She has obtained for you!

Pray the daily Rosary.

Let's glorify the Lord !
He loves us indiscriminately and it is even through miracles such as this one that He teaches us to love our neighbour without distinction.

As your friend Z. said to you, Reverend Father, N. isn't Catholic but he is a devout Christian and a very good man and that's what really counts in God's Eyes.

May God grant us the Gift of Humility and the Strength of Faith

With All Respect

Thank you, Fr. Michael Mary! The power of prayer -- especially the Holy Mass, the summit of prayer -- is truly miraculous.

A.B.,

There is no salvation outside the Church. If God has spared N's life at this time, it must be for a reason. I know N and Z personally, and so ask that you please pray for N's complete physical healing and -- most importantly -- his conversion to the Catholic Faith. God bless!

Dear Father,

For the love of God and neighbour dont call 99.99% improvement a miracle - not even would a 99.9999% improvement be the work of God - miracles are perfect cures - God does not do half-miracles nor even 99.99%-miracles.

I know you admit you are not a theologian but it doesnt need theology to know that God does not allow miracles of cures in part.

Dear Simon

I say that it is a miracle! A perfect cure. Thanks be to God and Mary!

The doctor says it is 99.9%.

Do you think that the doctor could actually detect 0.01% of cancer present in the body? I don't.

I do not agree that the doctor detected 0.01% of cancer present.

But since he is a doctor in the USA he must apply a vast amount professional caution therefore he wants to 'make sure'.

This is no time for polemics Simon! Rejoice a little in somebody's great grace and thank God on his behalf.

You deny that partial cures could be miraculous? Are you so sure?

In St. Mark Ch VIII. 23 Of Our Lord it says:
And taking the blind man by the hand, he led him out of the town. And spitting upon his eyes, laying his hands on him, he asked if he saw anything. And looking up, he said: I see men as it were trees, walking.

(This is Gospel partial cure since the man born blind only received his sight in some imperfect way? .....But surely it was already a miracle!

Then the Holy Gospel goes on):

v. 25 "After that again he laid his hands upon his eyes: and he began to see and was restored, so that he saw all things clearly."

That made it a most wonderful miracle.

The Image of Our Mother of Perpetual Succour is rightly called Miraculous because of the vast number of extraordinary favours that Her intercession obtains in our behalf. The extraordinary cure of the person in question is undoubtedly miraculous since, as St Thomas teaches:

"Those effects are rightly to be termed miracles which are wrought by Divine power apart from the order usually observed in nature" (Contra Gent., III, cii)

Our cure is that of a cancer that had grown to its fullness and then metastasized to the vital organ of the liver.

The doctor witnesses that what he dealt with was "apart from the order usually observed in nature".

That this cure was wrought by the "Divine power" through the intercession of Our Mother of Perpetual Succour, we are free to hold as a miracle unless contradicted by the Church.

Father: If someone writes a letter to Our Lady and sends it to you, will you "deposit" it?

Transalpine Redemptorists said...

Yes. If it is email we'll print it and deposit it into the letter box for Our Lady's Shrine. If it is sent in the post sinply mark it for the Novena:
"Novena
Golgotha Monastery Island
Papa Stronsay, KW17 2AR
Orkney
Scotland, UK"
It will be delivered directly to Our Lady's shrine.

Dear Father,

Thank you for publishing my conviction and your considered answer. Yet I wish to bring to your notice some points to consider:

1. the claim of 99.99% is surely an expression and not a scientifically measured value - it may well be said to be 90.00%;

2. the person had been undergoing chemotherapy and this had taken a great turn for the better without any special intervention by God;

3. but this improvement, since it is not 100% and just noticed doesnt guarantee no relapse in time - something Holy Mother Church & surely Our Lady too, looks at very carefully;

4. and lastly - should we not wait until Holy Mother Church declares to us an event as a miracle - are we no longer meek obedient children?

If I may add on the last point - it is patently clear that Catholics have ceased to be obedient now for some 60 years or more culminating in the final disobedience: rejecting the LAW laid down by God through His Vicar, St Pius V, that the way to worship Him publicly must be done in the Latin Mass of the Latin Rite for the Western Catholics, and in no other way.

It took the present Pope to remind all that the LAW commanding this had not been abrogated or suppressed:

"the Sacrifice of the Mass following the typical edition of the Roman Missal promulgated by Bl. John XXIII in 1962 and never abrogated" - "SUMMORUM PONTIFICUM"
July 7, 2007 - and again:

"this Missal was never juridically abrogated" - "Letter Of His Holiness Benedict Xvi To The Bishops On The Occasion Of The Publication Of The Apostolic Letter "Motu Proprio Data" Summorum Pontificum On The Use Of The Roman Liturgy Prior To The Reform Of 1970.

So there it is, from the horse's mouth so to speak.

And what does it mean dear Father? Does it not mean that there is a LAW STILL IN FORCE which commands - that the way to worship God publicly must be done in the Latin Mass of the Latin Rite for the Western Catholics, and in no other way?

Surely that is so ,for God's Church has always run on explicit laws and must do so to the end of time. But what is the Holy Father doing? Is he obedient to this LAW STILL IN FORCE? No at all. He has derisively called this worship, Divinely enforced sacred LAW, as: "an extraordinary form of the Liturgy of the Church"

The one and only LAW Commanded worship has been placed in second place to an invention contrary to one which is God's LAW STILL IN FORCE (This Pope says it is - not I - though I too must say it as a loyal servant of God and His Holy Mother).

To end this point - what has this Pope, in public, called the NEW WORSHIP SERVICE:

" NEW MASS "HAS CAUSED EXTREMELY SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE CHURCH [1]–it is a "FABRICATION, A BANAL ON THE SPOT PRODUCT [2]"

Both statements were made publicly, in written form by Pope Benedict XVI as Cardinal Ratzinger – 1 & 2

[1]. Cardinal Ratzinger's autobiography, "La mia vita", [Edizioni, San Paolo, mid-April, 1997]

[2]. The Preface of French Edition and back cover of English Edition of "The Reform Of The Roman Liturgy" by Mons. K Gamber, (English Transln., Una Voce Press & The Foundation for Catholic Reform, New York, 1993)

These are historical facts – they cannot be denied – you can find them on the Internet or in the books – all widely distributed
Surely, such a "product" can never be the way to honour the Majesty of God?

It would be good on you Father if you published the whole of this note – surely it would be helpful to many Catholics to wake up and see their disobedience and the poor Holy Father’s disobedience – no doubt from ignorance and not malice – may I stress: it is not I but the Holy Father who has reminded the one and only Apostolic, Catholic, Roman Church of God that there is a LAW in force to be obeyed:

“To worship God publicly must be done in the Latin Mass of the Latin Rite for the Western Catholics, and in no other way”

Shame on you Father,

For not publishing my last letter. I can see that it was a demand on you - but the force of its truth cannot be escaped - not until some Pope is moved to abrogate in an INFALLIBLE decree. Of course that's impossible as Quo primum is INFALLIBLE and hence from God and He never contradicts Himself, because He is:

"the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor shadow of alteration." (James 1:17)

Still, you have now been'warned', so may you not persist in your support for the NOvus Ordo worship service by not passing on the fact that God's Law, issued by St Pius V, the Law is that all the Western Catholics MUST use the ONE Rite of Mass, which the current Pope has pointed out is still in force.

Father, be a good Catholic, and die like Bishop Lazo of the Phillipines, denounce the New Mass at least as being against the Law of God, still in force, for the Latin Rite Mass of All Times.

The good Bishop when he 'saw the light', exclaimed, even to fellow Bishops:

"we are planning to rid the world of this type because we want them to know that the one pleasing … worship that is pleasing to God is the Tridentine mass and not the Novus Ordo … So that the time will not be too long in coming that our Philippino Catholics will realise that they are attending a Mass that is a meal and not a sacrifice, that they are attending a Mass that is more of socialising and not worshipping. Therefore, for this reason, we are trying to open the eyes of our people, who are very, very loyal to their Ordinaries."

That is your task as well - recall what your Patron, St Alphonsus has said to you:

“The sole ends of the priesthood are not to say Mass and recite the Office. They are to watch over the honour of God and procure the salvation of souls."
("Dignity and Duty of the Priest", Redemptorist Fathers, 1927, p 41)

The " honor of God", Father! Do you grasp your momentous responsibility? How have you upheld it todate? Like the other priests of today and yesterday? Then woe, a thousand times to you. Wake up before the awakening, father.

What will you answer St Alphonsus, very soon, to that question?

Dear Simon,
I've just arrived home after several days absence and found your two comments; so patience is sometimes required before comments are posted.

You can be assured of my prayers for your good self. It is a pity that something that begins as piety grows into bold self assurance and comes close to the fringe.

There is much to be found in mental prayer, Simon and I recommend it to you heartily since it is a source of light, humility, patience and all the virtues.

Much could be replied to all that you have written but this is not the place.

Brief: you are not a canon lawyer, more a barack-room lawyer: unqualified in matters of Church Law yet bold enough to judge the present Pope guilty of grave disobedience. You seem to no longer know the fear of God, puffed up as you are, and made reckless by your pride.

Let me for one tell you Simon: You do not know better than Pope Benedict XVI; if you don't change you attitude you will come to a bad end.

Take up mental prayer seriously and implore the intercession of Our Lady for your own soul.

I won't continue to post your comments. If you wish to talk further of any of this please write to me via the Comments Box to the left of the screen.

Assuring you of my sincerest best wishes for you and the assurance of my prayers,
Devotedly,
Fr. Michael Mary

Returning to the subject of the original post, I have spoken with both N and Z today. N gives a reserved yet joyful witness to the reality of the miracle that God has wrought in his body and soul. He and Z were both very moved by Fr. Michael Mary's post and grateful for the prayers and Masses offered. Thank you and God bless!

In the hearts of Jesus and Mary,

Thanks be to God for such a miraculous cure. I do believe that God can, and often does, heal miraculously with the help of doctors and medicine. While medical treatment may be an "explanation" for some, it doesn't make it any less miraculous. Chemotherapy doesn't automatically cure cancer. We must remember that ALL healing, spiritual and physical, comes from God.

I am saddened to see such bitter comments on such a joyous occasion! I say thanks be to God for Our Lady's intercession in prolonging N's life. Perhaps this miracle is the means of softening his heart and leading him into the fold. Either way, he has my prayers!
