Having put on their the cassocks the seminarians return to the chapel.
The moment of Tonsure has arrived.
The hair is cut in on the four side of the head:the points of the Cross.
The reception of the Surplice.
The incensing of the Gospel.
The newly tonsured offers the Pontiff a lighted candle.
The Offertory of the Mass.

My sincerest congratulations to Br Martin Mary.
I have just returned from Wigratzbad in Germany where I had the pleasure in being present at Mark's tonsuring in Lindau along with his fellow seminarians at the FSSP's European seminary.
Please pray for all entering seminary or th religious life and in especial those receiving the tonsure this year.
Many congratulations to you Br Martin and my prayers for your continued journey to th altar of God.

Congratulations to Br. Martin Mary! It seemed as good a reason as any to hit your donation button as well. (Especially since other threads had less joyous contents here and there, consider it a sign of support in that sense too).
One question remains: how does Br. Martin Mary's path progress from here? I must say that I haven't got a clear picture of all steps in the old form.
Great pictures from Nebraska! And I recognized the priest who was on the other side of Bishop Bruskiewitz: Father Benoit Guichard, FSSP! I remember him when he and other FSSP priests used to come to Upstate NY to offer the EF Mass! They don't come anymore, unfortunately; we miss them terribly!
That being said, I offer my Congratulations to Brother Martin Mary and all the other seminarians who received the Tonsure....sure were a lot of them!
