A Midsummer Night's Dream

Last night saw the summer solstice - the longest day of the year.  It's wonderful being as far north as Papa Stronsay is, to experience the light through the night:

The Sun set at about 10:45pm.

 10:48pm.

 11:00pm.

 Midnight and still not dark!

 12:02am.

12:03am.

Thank you for the wonderful photos. I lived in northern Alberta and in Alaska, the latter being God's Country for sure, and Midsummer was fantastic. I love the big sky. If you had nuns, I could come up for retreat sometime. Please consider...

God bless you all. I am in London for the summer and see a little patch of sky out of my window, which as a girl from the country is a bit of a challenge not to be missing the Big Sky...However, there is beauty everywhere in God's world and the four stars I can see will become very special to me this summer.
