Let us continue to persevere in prayer
for our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI,
for Bishop Fellay and
the Society of St. Pius X.
We must trust in God working through the Holy Father.

Deus, in adjutorium meum intende;
Domine, as adjuvandum me festina.
Incline unto my aid O God;
O LORD, make haste to help me!
In his interview with the very mainstream CNS, Bishop Fellay plainly contradicts the typical (if not official) SSPX line that the Council itself erred in the matter of religious liberty. The other three bishops will not tolerate this. All signs point to a formal split within the SSPX before there is any reconciliation -- and the reconciliation will be between Rome and what remains of the SSPX under Bishop Fellay.
ReplyDeleteGod bless Bishop Fellay and Pope Benedict XVI.
Another way of looking at it:
ReplyDelete"I accuse the Council!"
- Abp Lefebvre
"I accuse the false interpreters of the Council!"
- Pope Benedict XVI and Bishop Fellay
May I point out that the Catholic Church is neither presbyteral nor congregational in structure.
ReplyDeleteSome falsely self-labelled traditionalist clergy have been setting up such structures.
It is obvious that the CNS interview is heavily edited. It is disappointing that so many traditionalists are allowing the enemies of the Church to divide them.

Just finished a novena for this cause and will start more prayers just for the SSPX to come in despite all the enemies of goodness and truth. May Our Dear Mother Mary watch over all these proceedings and answer our prayers.
ReplyDeleteDavid,
ReplyDeleteYou are factually incorrect about Bishop Fellay's comment about the Council. In the CNS interview, he merely said that there are things we have attributed as coming from the Council which in fact do not come from the Council, but from a common understanding of it. I believe that he is referring to such things as the New Mass, Communion in the Hand, etc. None of those are in the Vatican II documents, yet those are often understood as coming from Vatican II.
