Dear Faithful,
In light of recent news and by way of personal response, Fr Michael has written a declaration concerning his episcopal consecration announced on 18th June 2026.
An End to the Blight
Declaration Concerning my Episcopal Consecration on 25 July 2026
The forthcoming Episcopal Consecration scheduled for 25 July 2026 marks the end of a long road of study and lived-out experience. A Catholic since my 14th day and nearly now 73 years of age I have a long experience of the Faith, and the end of my life is fast approaching.
Our Holy Mother the Catholic Church has been and, by God’s grace, will ever be the great love of my life. I have the fondest memories of the different nuns who taught me in my early childhood in Ranfurly, Temuka and Gore in South Island, New Zealand. What a day was my First Holy Communion in 1960! Alas, the nuns have nearly all gone from our Catholic world. Gone are the days when the schools were staffed only by the sisters. The nuns in their holy habits were as so many icons of God in the streets of even the smallest towns. Who took them away from Jesus Christ and His Mystical Body the Church? Not heavenly grace! And a day will come when there will be an accounting for the evils brought upon our Holy Mother the Church by her enemies. The world today no longer knows the Catholic world as it was before the dreadful conclusion of the Second Vatican Council which violently broke with all that went before.
At Fatima the Blessed Virgin Mary told the children to “Learn how to read”. These were prophetic words. Today there are few who have learned how to read the Church’s timeline and they have missed the violent rupture that took place with the second Vatican Council. In fact, if Catholics would only read the Encyclical Letters of the Popes who predated the Second Vatican Council, they would understand the present situation. The Popes since the time of Pope Leo XII, Pius VII, Gregory XVI, Pius IX, Leo XIII and Pius X have all warned of the heresies besetting the Church by Her infiltrating enemies. As late as 1923 Pope Pius XI thought of having a General Council. It was his closest Cardinals that warned him against it because, by that time, the Church’s heretical enemies were already to take control.
Thanks to Paul VI the Second Vatican Council began what it called a “Springtime” for the Catholic Church with the flowering of new doctrines that were designed to embrace the world. The flowers and fruits have been blooming now for 60 years. The flowers of the cockle. The fruit that spreads blight. It is said in English that a person who acts as a destructive or ruining force upon others was called in the 19th century: A Blighter. What blighters we have been exposed to these 60 years.
“And the servants of the goodman of the house coming said to him: Sir, didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? whence then hath it cockle? And he said to them: An enemy hath done this.” (Mt 13:28) The devastation, the destruction, is tangible. The blighters. And this has come to pass because the warnings of the Popes went unheeded and the enemies finally did take over the structures of the Church. There is a new religion. It is not the same Catholic Faith that the world had always known. It is a new religion, a religion of blight.
Over the last 60 years concerned Catholics have been trying to live their holy Faith within the structures of the Church. Central to our faith is the Latin Mass, the Catechism and the traditional life of Sacraments and devotions. Our True Religion is unchanged in its beliefs from the time of the Our Lord until the Second Vatican Council. But the new religion is a drastic change and is hostile to the true Religion.
The New Religion cries out against the forthcoming Episcopal Consecration because it wants the obliteration of the Latin Mass, the Catechism and the Sacraments of the True Church. This is their intent. But it will never happen because Christ has promised to be with His One and Only Church until the end of time. The new blighter religion will never stamp out the True Mass and Sacraments. God will raise up bishops from the stones to give His children bread in the wilderness. The Episcopal Consecration that will be celebrated on 25th July in Papa Stronsay will keep the fount of the Sacraments open to future generations.
A young monk writes today:
“I have read the letter from Hugh Gilbert that you uploaded. Having read
it carefully, I do not change my mind in the slightest.
If men publicly profess doctrines contrary to the Faith handed down by Our Lord
and taught by the Church throughout the centuries, then they cannot claim our
obedience in those matters. Truth does not change, and the Catholic Faith does
not change. No authority on earth has the power to alter what has been believed
always, everywhere, and by all. They are not the Church, and they are not our
pastors, because they have denied the Faith and the Truth.
I am prepared to be excommunicated by the modernists, because in no way can
heretics excommunicate.
Therefore, I am not troubled by threats, condemnations, or excommunications
from those who have embraced modernist errors. Heresy cannot bind the Faithful,
nor can error command the assent of Catholic consciences.
The times are dark, but this is no reason for discouragement. Rather, it is a
reason to stand firm. Let us therefore take up the armour of God and fight the
good fight, holding fast to the Faith of our fathers, whatever the cost may be.
I pray for the conversion of the modernists, for the restoration of Holy Mother
Church, and for the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
May God be praised in the trials that lie ahead, and may He grant us the grace
to remain faithful unto death.”

“The times are dark, but this is no reason for discouragement.” The Church is suffering, persecuted from within by the blighters and yet the fire of the Faith still burns in the hearts of young Catholics. And it will burn “whatever the cost may be.”
But who will guide this fervent few? Who will teach and ordain priests from their number to work for the salvation of poor souls? Who will pass on the succession of the Apostles that the Church may carry on and be found working when Our Lord comes in glory?
The host of bishops complicit in blight of Francis and Leo wages war against true Catholics, they suppress and restrict and most with the apathetic apology, “orders are orders”. If we will resist this abuse at the hands of the blighters, we must have leaders to direct our labours, generals for our counterattack. Without the power and authority of the episcopacy, these young souls, yearning to stand for the Truth will find no guidance or leadership and will fight alone and disunited.
“For it is written: I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be dispersed." Matthew 26:31
Too long have priests worked tirelessly for souls in small chapels around the world, disconnected from their brethren in the priesthood and without the fatherhood of a bishop to guide and comfort them through the storm. Too long have willing young men been forced to endure oppression in seminaries for things such as saying the Rosary and receiving Holy Communion on the tongue. No longer.
It is for these youths without a teacher and these priests without a leader; it is for them that, in this late stage of my life, I accept the vocation to which God calls me. May I, by this consecration and under Our Mother’s protection, be a channel of grace to these men, that they might continue to strive for the exultation of the Holy Church and the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart.
Devotedly,
Father Michael Mary, F.SS.R.
