Ordinations to the Minor Orders

November 19th 2016 saw the conferral of the Minor Orders upon two of our students: Br Martin Mary, F.SS.R. and Br Peter Mary, F.SS.R.

The ordinations were performed by his Lordship Bishop Robert Finn, emeritus bishop of Kansas City-St. Joseph.

 Br Peter Mary received the first two of the four Minor Orders: Porter and Lector.

 After being ordained Porter, Br Peter Mary rings the Church bell, this being one of the offices of the Porter.

 The Tradition of the Instruments: Br Peter Mary places his hand upon the Evangelium, as the bishop ordains him a Lector.

 Br Martin Mary presents himself before the bishop with the other candidates to be ordained to the Minor Orders of Exorcist and Acolyte.

 Brother is ordained an Exorcist...

 

 ...and then an Acolyte.

This day is the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

With Her virginal foot She crushed the head of the serpent.
